SCHOOL SOCCER SEASONS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED
At the Jags our passion for female football is at the heart of everything we do. Hearing that school soccer is cancelled means girls will be away from the game for over a year. We want to do whatever we can for girls who love the game, love playing sport, and love developing skills, friendships and confidence through the game.
So we’re inviting girls who are missing out on their school season to come and train with us.
Here are the details.
Training with us is free. There’s no upfront cost.
Our training sessions are based on developing skills through fun games or game-like drills. Enjoyment and fun are crucial aspects of the way we deliver our program.
We train twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-6:30 at Jubilee Reserve, West Lakes Shore). Girls are welcome to attend as many or as little sessions as they or their parents wish.
Sessions are overseen by Sean Sheehy - the u11/u12 State Skills Acquisition Coach for girls and the u15 State TSP Girls Squad. Sean also coached the FootballSA Skills Team at the national championships in Tasmania.
For those who want to play games on Sundays with the Jags - we’re also offering special reduced fees. We know costs are a barrier for a lot of families when it comes to club football, and we are willing to help families to ensure their daughters can play.
Basically, if your daughter loves the game, we want to help her play it this season. We’ve got an incredible community, and wonderful culture and top level coaches. We hear again and again and again from parents and players how special it is to be in a female only squad. We specialise in helping girls develop. We have a long track record of success when it comes to helping girls achieve whatever goals they set for themselves in football. We are committed, above all, to helping girls be happy, healthy and active.
The Jags are confident that we are the place to be for girls who love the game, both in terms of ensuring female players and their families feel valued, and helping them go on to have success on their football journey.
