Express your interest in the Adelaide Jaguars Youth Girls Club Championship Program

Football SA has announced that, as of next year, there will be a new Youth Girls Club Championship (YGCC). The YGCC will aim to promote top level development across four age groups (u13, u14, u15 and u16).

The Adelaide Jaguars are excited about this new competition and what it means for female football moving forward. We are one of the clubs that satisfy all competition requirements, and we expect to be in the YGCC.

The YGCC will mean some small changes at Jags. It will formalise our performance and development pathway across the YGCC age groups, and elevate the way in which we drive player development. Our aim is to replicate the processes, standards and support programs available to girls within the Football SA full time programs.

Simply, we intend to use this new league as an opportunity to provide even more opportunities for our girls.

We already know how powerful our female-only environment and our development model can be. We have seen players leapfrog into full time Football SA squads through our junior development program. We have seen continually high numbers of Jags selected to full time Football SA squads. We have seen Jags go on to represent the Junior/Young Matildas. Simply - we constantly see results. So taking the program up another level is incredibly exciting.

It should be noted that;

  • There will still be trials.

  • For girls not selected to YGCC squads, there will still be loads of opportunities to play in our other squads within the Jags. Our general club trials info will be circulated soon.

  • We make no apologies for the standards we set for selections. There is a high bar for the YGCC, and we intend to ensure that we select players that reflect that standard.

Please fill in the EOI below. Players will receive correspondence from the club by the end of August with more information.

Thank you for expressing your interest in this exciting chapter of the Jags.
